I came across Rob Ryan's work with paper, I like how organic his work feels and how he uses hand drawn type along with his illustrations. These particular images he has laser cut, I was surprised at how intricate the detailing was so I am considering using the laser cutter in my design. He also uses flowers and leaves a lot in his work and repeats the same shapes. He also uses blocks of colours in his work, I think this works well on a white background. It makes the image very striking and emphasises the detail in the images.
Our poster revolves around the them of repetition so I will have to think what I want repeating.
When I think of repeat I think of patterns.
